"Chelsea and Shane with True Seeds were very accommodating when I told them I wanted to grow a intercrop of peas and oats. They supplied me with AAC Carvers and loaded my tender trailer with 2 small batches in the middle of May. What I appreciated the most is how they treated me and went the extra mile although my order was relatively small and realistically a hassle during their busiest time of year. I’m really happy with how the intercrop of peas and oats worked out. My goal was to add some diversity and gain some soil health benefits from the mix. The cattle love the finished product and it was all made possible by Chelsea and Shane."

Bought some Ruffian oat seed from Chelsey at True Seeds. Very happy with this new variety of oats, they yield right at 150 bushel per acre, with a bushel weigh of 43 lbs. Oats stood up well with very little lodging.

"I have been growing Redwater wheat for a number of years, had to change it up this year so contacted Chelsey at True Seeds and on her recommendation i bought some Red-berry seed, wheat. I am very impressed with this variety of wheat, I grew it side by side with the last of my old seed and it out-yielded the Redwater by 15 bushels per acre and protein was approximately 1 point higher, it’s the best yielding wheat I have grown with an average just over 80 bushels per acre."

"Tried some Bow barley this past season on recommendations from Chelsey, I have been having problems with lodging with other varieties I have tried. This barley worked out a lot better for me with limited lodging and yielded over 100 bushel per acre. Most definitely a very good variety of barley."

CDC Landmark stood extremely well with very high inputs making harvest a breeze.

"We’ve been growing Viewfield wheat for a couple of years, using certified seed each time. We have targeted and achieved very high yields, planting into Faba bean stubble and banding up to 150lb/ac actual N. Standability has been exceptional despite the high fertility and high yields. The only disappointment has been low protein. An excellent variety."

“Arborg oats – we liked this variety for a few reasons; nice lush plant with good size leaves (slightly shorter than Morgan but similar maturity), good yield (as good or slightly better than Summit or Ruffian but less than Morgan by about 10%), beautiful plump white oat, minimal disease (sprayed with Prosaro and only had 6 bu increase which barely pays for the fungicide but none of the application cost). Grew 160 acres and it averaged 171 bu gross. Definitely in the top 2 varieties for us slightly behind Morgan to grow.”

“Redberry hrsw – this is a sexy looking wheat, very lush, tillered well, nice leaves, thick stand with good size heads. Yield varied this year depending on the rains and nitrogen leaching. It did however in 2020 produce a farm record yield on a quarter section. Overall the average yield on the farm was respectable given the year. In 2019, Redberry averaged over the farm our highest spring wheat yield. We like it as it is earlier than Brandon by almost a week on our farm. Protein levels have been solid around the 14% average and grade has made a #1 or #2 (other than 1 late field that had frost damage and was a #3).”

“Carver yellow peas – solid early variety that has yielded good (only variety that has consistently yielded more for us is Saffrons). Standability is good but still need to spray with fungicide to ensure yield and keep it standing. Germ has been excellent on farm saved seed so good strong seed coat.”
